I have read so many comments regarding what others idea of living a Christian life is. One particular interview, a person saying how she used to go to church but she quit going and turned atheist because she did not feel Holy Spirit or hear God. She went on to say that she would go through the motions during worship. Let’s dissect this for a little bit. First, she said she was going through the motions which means she was not there to build a relationship with God, but to just check off a box. God gives us a choice in life to follow Him or not. To build that relationship or to just go our own way. We as humans would not have anything to do with someone who does not want anything to do with us. Huge difference with God, He wants that relationship. He is waiting on us to turn our lives to face Him, to align ourselves with Him. He does not go anywhere! Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This explains the importance of fully surrendering to Him and to seek Him in everything we go through.
Next, how do we build that relationship with Him to where we can hear Him answer or feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. We have to repent and seek Him daily! But, we also have to look in our hearts and let go of the things that are filling up our hearts that are not of God. To get the traumas out of our hearts that we are holding onto. If you do not know what it is, ask Holy Spirit! There are leaders and events that you can go to that will teach you how to let go of things. When we have our hearts filled with bad, we have no room for good, for God. Once Holy Spirit has showed you what you need to let go of, confess it out loud. When we confess out loud, we are bringing it to light and letting the enemy know that no more will you partner with that. After you have confessed it, repent to God that you have been holding on to it for so long. Repent that you have allowed this trauma to hold you down. Next, anoint and pray! Have a brother or sister pray over you that you will no longer allow this to fill your heart and replace that bad with something good, something of God. Once you realize and do all of these things, you will feel the weight just lift off of you. Lastly, fully surrender to God! Do be half in and half out. Fully comment your life to Him! Accept Jesus in your heart, that you know he died for your sins and rose again in 3 days. Let go of what is holding you back, you can do this!
I want to share a brief part of my testimony. I had anger, depression, pride, unforgivness, feeling of being unwanted, and putting bad curses on myself. I had never realized how much I was holding on to things until I went to Fully Alive where I was showed how much I was not myself through holding on to so many bad roots. Depression played a huge part of my life for so many years, it got so bad after loosing my dad (I will share more of that at a later time.) I was on depression medication and went from being sad, crying myself to sleep, to walking out of church and no longer needing depression medication. That happen before Fully Alive and my start to fully being free of all that I was holding on to. I feel so much joy now, I no longer have so much anger, and I have not cried myself to sleep in so long. Worship songs hit different, I cry in front of people now where as I used to feel weak if I cried in front of anyone (even my husband.) I have so much more to share, but that will come with time.
Lastly, let’s not let the unknown scare us from fully committing these things. Yes, the unknown can be scary, but the blessing on the other side is amazing! You will start to hear God, you will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, you will see the world in a completely different view. Run to the Father, He is waiting on you with His arms wide open. He loves you and gave us His only Son for our sins. Not only will you be blessed, but man, eternal life to live with our Father! He never promises us easy, but He does promise that He will get us through our troubles stronger on the other side. We just have to ask Him. Please do not let the ones that are unaware of what it is truly like to build that relationship keep you from what God has for you! Reach out and spread love. I pray this post will change your life, I pray that it makes a difference, and that you have many blessing. When in doubt, look up. Praise God for our blessings and ask for guidance in our troubles!
