Is your flame dim?

I am going to get a little raw here! As I was driving down the road the other day, my mind was going a million miles a minute. Thinking about how I can help my family get out of the money shortage we are in. I begged God to show me what I needed to do and with that the enemy invaded my heart with depression, anger, the feeling of not being good enough, and many other things. I cried, and just started spiraling out of control. Holy Spirit instantly told me to reach out to a certain fellow sister and have her pray for you, but man the enemy really had a hold on me. I then said, “oh well I will just wait until I get home and talk to Jason, he has always been my go to person.” Boy was I wrong. At this point my flame has dimmed tremendously.

When I get home, I am already cold and standoffish with Jason. When I finally tell him that I am fighting depression right now, he comes back with harsh words that sent me spiraling even more. I went the rest of the night and most of the next day not speaking to him. The next day I did reach out to the sister that Holy Spirit told me to reach out to. I then texted Jason while I was at work and told him how I felt. At that point, Holy Spirit showed me why I was supposed to go to that sister and not Jason. He has been out not being able to do much because he had back surgery. So he has been battling himself and when I came home the way I did, I just added to his problems and he just lashed out at me.

At that point I started kicking all the bad roots out of my heart and claiming joy and all good over myself. After that and talking to my fellow sister, I felt so much better and that my fire was igniting again. That day after work I was driving down the road listening to my worship music and a song came on that talked about lighting that fire in myself again so my life is lived for Jesus, to feel me with good . God was telling me to not let the enemy take that control over my life again, to listen to what Holy Spirit is telling me.

I learned a lot that evening and the next day. When Jesus died on the cross for you and me, He gave us the Holy Spirit, His spirit. Romans 8:26 says “in the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” He hears your cries and your tears! So when we hear Him telling us something, we have to obey that and we will be blessed. Listening and obeying grows our relationship with God even more.

When the enemy invades our thoughts and our hearts, we need to recognize that and immediately battle. We have to be aware of what is going on and replace all the bad that the enemy is trying to sneak in with good and joy. Remember that satan can’t hear your thoughts, but he can hear your spoken words. Do not speak bad over yourself of anyone else! He will use that against you. And if you have a sin that you have asked for forgiveness for, don’t let satan use that against you. Satan has to listen to what you say in Jesus name. Yell at him that you were forgiven of the sin he is trying to use against you and he has to flee in Jesus name. Never give Satan control over your life!

If you are struggling with depression, lust, anger, addiction, pride or unforgiving realize that quickly and pray. Replace all those with good, joy, boldness, peace, happiness, and forgiveness. Confess you sins and repent as soon as it happens. Do not let is fester! Have your brothers or your sisters pray over you. The more you notice these things quicker then less the enemy will be able to use it against you. He will not be able to attack you if you shut it down quick! Ephesians 6:11-13 says “put on the whole armor God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness in this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Put on your full armor to fight the enemy! Reach out to your fellow brothers and sisters, walk out of the darkness into the light! God has so many amazing things for you, but you have to put one foot in front of the other and battle. You can do this! Let your flame shine bright and be the light for someone else.
