Have you ever said “time goes by so fast!”? I know I have said it on more than one occasion, especially with my kids growing up so fast. This is a side note, my oldest graduated high school, left for boot camp, and got married all this year. I have been reminiscing so much about when he was little and how it felt like not that long ago I was holding him in my arms when he was a little baby. Now I am sending him off into the world to make his own way. When my son signed up for the military, I was telling everyone who would listen because I am so proud of him. But often I would hear, “how can you be okay with that, aren’t you scared?” My answer to that is always, God has got him. I have prayed for him in this journey in the military as well as making sure he is doing God’s will for his life and not his own. I can’t have my eyes on him all the time, but God can and I can faithfully stand by that, so it makes my heart calm in the process. (End side note)
When our children grow up and leave our home, we see how precious time is and how important it is to live by Gods word and not our own. In Ephesians 5:15-17 it says” So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” God tells us what He wants for our lives, we just have to be the ones to live by that. We must take every minute we are given with a thankful heart and not take anything for granted as time is precious. When we walk around, take a deep breath in of everything God created and to bring light into the dark world. Most importantly, every morning when you wake up, pray to God and ask Holy Sprit what it is that He wants you to use your time doing for that day. Remember, He has a plan for us all and will give us the time we need to do it. We just have to be the ones that seek Him for guidance on what that plan is.
Heavenly Father, I come to you with a thankful heart. I am thankful for the guidance You have provided for me in my life, especially this time that I have grown closer to You Lord. I thank you for the pruning You have done for me to show me how precious time is. Lord as I go throughout my days I ask that you continue to guide me and that Your will for my life be fulfilled and that I may spend my time doing as what You have planned for me. Your word says to live like those who are wise and to make the most of every opportunity. Lord I am asking for Your guidance in wisdom, discernment, and boldness to walk through Your plans for my life. Holy Spirit, I invite You to invade my life in that I spread Your light throughout the people in my path while continuing to do Your will. I love you and I pray this all in Jesus name, Amen.
