Finding Faith in Financial Struggles: Our Journey

I know it has been long since I have last posted, but my family has been going through a lot and I want to update you all. So this past year and a half I shared with you that we have been financially struggling. God put it on our hearts to reach out to our pastors and bring them in on all of our decisions and get their thoughts on what we should do. They suggested that we let something go. We were still living the oilfield life without the oilfield money. So we prayed, we listened, we brought others in to pray and clarify, and we were obedient moving forward in the direction God wanted us to go.

Now I want to rewind a little bit to talk about this pruning season that God had me on. He has been preparing my heart for the drastic change in our lives because if you would have told me what we were going to do at this time last year, I would have probably lost it. God has taught me things about myself and things I needed to work on to be a better version of myself and to be a better wife and mother.

Now back to what God has told us we need to give up, well it was our house. I now, it is crazy but we have full faith in God’s plan and we know His plan is going to be way better than what we could have every imagined. Our house was a double wide on my parents 2 acres. We put the house there after my dad passed to be closer to my mom. She ended up moving in with my sister to help her out, so we now had rooms in our house that we were not using. I got it that God wanted us to downsize. By this point, we were behind on our house by a few months. When we prayed about this and brought people in to pray about it, we then received a letter from our mortgage company that they were going to offer us money to give up the house. So we knew that we were making the right decision and we accepted their offer.

To our surprise though, they gave us 3 days to pack a whole house and move out. In between all of this, we were looking at sheds in our town that we can convert to a tiny home and we found one we liked. But my husband had seen an add that there was a company that sold sheds where the electric and insulation was already done so we went and met with this guy. Now everyday I pray for wisdom, boldness, and discernment and boy was I glad about the discernment that day. Something about the whole situation felt off and I wanted to get out of there. He had asked my husband for his license to take a copy of it to lock in on a shed. I wanted to say no, but he walked in and said that he had forgotten his wallet at the house…praise God. So we left and I immediately told him that the whole situation felt off and I did not think we should go that route. But the enemy likes to stop what God has planned and he spoke in our ear the whole hour and a half home saying we needed to go with that shed we just seen. So we were saying that is what we were going to do, but we still brought in others to also pray into which one we should get.

It was a unanimous decision from all parties involved that Holy Spirit said we needed to get the first one we looked at which was what my discernment was telling me when we left the other place.

Now our double wide is gone, but not in the time we originally thought as we had to put off the delivery of our shed. So now we wait for another week before we get our new tiny home delivered and we can start working on that.

The whole point in sharing this journey is to show everyone how God can work in all of our lives if we just let Him. We have to be obedient and listen to what Holy Spirit is telling us and have community to bring in on the decision to get clarity. We plan on sharing this journey via video as I have recently prayed about this blog and recording our journey. God tells me that our testimony and sharing our journey will help someone else.

In closing, remember to always seek God’s guidance in your life. I promise you if you let Him in, there will be amazing changes in your life. If you have questions, reach out. Need prayer, I am here. Never feel like problem or ask is too small as Jesus cares about it all.

Heavenly Father, I come to you with a humble heart. Lord I thank you for your constant guidance and love. I thank you always showing up even when I think you are not there. Thank you for bringing me through a tough season and showing me how you were there every step of the way. How everything that happen had to be that way for Your plan to work out. Lord, I pray for all those that are reading this post. May you show up and show off in their life and if there is any doubt Lord may they see Your wonderful works. Lord I pray that you continue to guide me and left every step be Your step and not mine. Continue me showering me with your blessings, love, wisdom, boldness, and discernment. I love you and pray this all in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
