Do you pray before doing the big and even small things in your life? I have sadly learned the hard way that if I try to make my own path, it backfires. Now, I have learned to stop, pray and listen for an answer before I say yes. It can be as big as starting a business, to buying a car, to just going to an event. The old me would jump in with a yes if it is something that sounded fun or if is something that I may enjoy doing. But that was me making my own way and not seeking the guidance from the Father on what His will is for my life. If we seek His will and be obedient on what He says, nothing can stop you from being successful, getting the car at a great price, or being the best event that is full of peace. There may be times that you hear that you need to do a particular thing and instantly the negative thoughts pop in your head like “how am I going to do that? I can’t do that!” That thing you are being led to do will open up so many doors and blessings and the enemy knows that. So he instantly starts putting doubt in your head. But when we are called to do something, we have to put all of our trust in the Lord and when we see the impossible, He makes it possible . When you get on the other side and look back, you will say “wow, He did provide the way.” Any time you are called to do something or you are praying about a particular thing, I would recommend journaling the process so it is something that you can look back on and see His favor in it. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.” Another good thing to add, if you are praying about something on weather you should or shouldn’t do it and you question if you heard Him right. Bring someone else in to pray on it as well to see what they hear (another good thing about community.) I do this often because I want to make sure I am hearing right.
Father, I come before you with a humble heart. Father I thank you that you have convicted me to seek you first before making any decisions because I know you have my best interest and my purpose lined out. Father, I put my full trust in you in whatever my path looks like. Would you feel me with clarity and discernment to hear exactly what your calling for me is. Father may you open my eyes, ears, and heart to listen for your guidance. I pray for everyone reading this Father. May you bless them, guide them, and pick them up should their heart be heavy. Father I give you this day that every step I take be the steps you want me to take. I pray this all in Jesus name, Amen.
